Introduction

The Phoenix Burton Barr library is starting a Hacker Haven (AKA maker space). The library website is being updated so an official web page is not happening quickly. Until then I am starting this unofficial blog to maximize awareness and discussion for getting things going.

Currently Hacker Haven is Tuesdays from 6-7 PM located at the Burton Barr Library (map inside).
These places are often called different things; makerspace, hackerspace, creation station. Show up ready to work on making things and help others do the same.

Great things are taking shape and it's great to see it happening. We've had over 25 people out to one event while kids launched Snap Circuit propellers to the top of the room. We have electronics kits, but the goal is not limited to electronics. Check the Phoenix Library calendar for other making themed events including paper engineering, and digital art classes.

Please post questions and comments in this blog. I will be making a post with their wishlist if you would like to donate things they can use. What kinds of projects would you like to make? Are you an expert on things you can share? Please spread the word!
